Problem with my DVD5

Posted by: Polarbear on 13 January 2007

I played a few DVD's on my DVD5 tonight and the colours seem to have gone whappy.

Faces are blue/grey, skies are yellow, reds seem to be all over the place.

Any idea's?

If you are using a Scart lead it might be worth trying another one or making sure its fully home both ends. Sounds like you might be losing the Green of the RGB if you've got Reds and Blues.

...or check RGB vs. YPbPr settings.

If you are using a LCD/Plasma with HDMI or DVI input check the DVI/HDMI setups. If it is set to auto, there may be misunderstandings between DVD-5 and TV especially when using DVI to HDMI.
This is only a suggestion based on own experiences.

first check the above.

if it was working fine prior to this and now is faulty, with no change of settings:-

RESET:-

with unit on, no disc in drawer and drawer closed. Press and hold CLEAR button on remote for 5 seconds.

RESET will be displayed in the front panel window of the DVD5.

now turn power off at rear mains switch and then on again and use. has this cured problem??

well I have tried reset and its not sorted the problem.

I am using HDMI/DVI connector. Output is PAL, scart setting is RGB.

I have disconnected the HDMI and DVI and reconnected but no change,

I have just replaced the HDMI with a basic scart and the problem seems to be fixed,

Strange!

Do you think after yesterday I am moving them again. Seriously it was not a problem with the ARTS there.
