In Rainbows

Very pleasant surprise in the post today - my Radiohead 'In Rainbows' pack of double 45rpm vinyl and CDs.
Can't wait to get it on the turntable tonight, if it sounds as good as the package looks it should be tremendous . . .

(And even better next week as my SuperNait has arrived at my dealer, my first Naim kit)

Still waiting for my pack to arrive, the suspense is killing me! How does it all sound and look? Any pics?

Shame about the 45 rpm aspect, as a standard LP12 user I won't be able to play these. Great CD s though.

Yes the 45rpm is a real bummer for LP12 users & a bit tedious to listen to as well, however I'm grateful they didn't compress the sound down to a single 33rpm disc, this double 45 album should sound fantastic!

Thanks Nic, discbox looks wonderfully put together, now I really want it!

Does anyone know whether the LP only release is 33 or 45 rpm?
I have a Valhalla'd LP12.

Seagull,
Boxed set is definitely 2 x 45 rpm 12" with cd's

So - is anyone else somewhat disappointed that the two heavy-duty 45rpm records in the discbox sound dull as ditchwater compared to the CD???
They sound completely flat, dreary and lifeless, like the bass and treble have both been turned down to zero.
Anyone know what the standard LP (which I believe is on one 33rpm record) sounds like? Not that I intend to buy it - I think this is the final nail in the coffin of buying new vinyl as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not qualified to discuss the pros and cons of various formats as only have it on CD, but as far as the music goes it is total genius. Brilliant brilliant album.

Standard vinyl only release is 33rpm. Good quality vinyl, & sounds good quality, definitely not dull. To be fair,I haven't heard it on CD.
