It Is Australia Day and here are 2 new artists

Dear All,

A stunnungly beautiful day here in Sydney on Australia Day.

Fantastic events to watch and to listen too.

High lights for me were the Several 100 cars on MacQuarrie Street. Loads of good old Aussie Muscle Cars to drool over.

Holden Monaro's Toranna's Ford GTHO And Cobra's also not to miss the Chrysler Chargers.

Anyway a lot of music performed live there were five stages in the rocks alone without the Hyde Park and the Domayne.

So anyway i really enjoyed the Rocks stages especially stages 3 and 4.

Unfortunately you could not be in two places at one time.

So for me the best artist was:

Jason Lowe fantastic guitarist, acoustic and slide. Not a bad voice either, and wonderful songs.

catch him on :

As a born again groupie i stood in line to get his cd autographed. SAD SAD SAD OLD FART.

Also of note :

Angie Hart.

Vocal by Angie, Guitar by cant remember his name.

Sort of like a mellow Aussie Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. She has a great powerful voice and a fine set of lungs too. Simple songs sung and played well.

So a great day. I am somewhat sunburnt and am listening to my new CD duly signed by the artist himself. I had to queue up with the kids to get it.

Anyway i look forward to the day when Aussie Day has real meaning as i shall be applying for residency in Aug.

Also worh listening too was Ashleigh Mannix just her voice and an acoustic guitar.
Very simple and very beautiful and her voice has power and control with great dynamics. She did not really need the PA.

I also quite like The Flood even though they have been around for a little while.

As its Australia day weekend (or whatever) can anyone tell me what happened to that Tina Arena project. She recorded a bunch of songs with full orchestra in London but no release ever seems to have appeared?
