new vs. old hi-cap / headline

Posted by: andrew jameson on 15 December 2003

I'm soon to re-enter the fray with a Naimed LP12 / Dynavector XV1 and headphone system ... I used to have a headlne / hicap (running HD600) but sold about a year ago.... interesting in whether anyone has heard the influence of the new case design on the hicap / headline. I'm also curious about the 'new' prefix that was aluded to in March this year in a previous thread - does this exist? ... is it worth swapping mine (which is about 5 years old but was black snaiced about 2 years ago)

Thoughts appreciated ...

Andy,

I bought your Headline and 250 about a year ago. Both recently sold on. The Prefix upgrade improves on RFI and includes the new black snaic for £80, I was told(by Sheila). Would do it myself but it puts the TT out of action and I don't have MC input cards but is next on the list before/after(?) the 552;O)

Prefix 2 sounds better I was told too. It helps to justify the upgrade if that is the case.

Interestingly, switched my 52/SC to 72/HC into 500 and I prefer it. Money in the bank and good sound quality, what more could you want?
