In another thread, a member lamented "It is sad that George W will be remembered for IRAQ and not for his positive achievements."
What were his positive achievements?

As much as I do not like many of the things that have occurred under GWB's watch, I really don't see how many things would have been different if a democrat had been elected in either of the two terms. Obviously we can debate this , but despite democratic cries to the contrary would we have been in Iraq regardless of who was in office? IMO, probably so. The real issue with Iraq was no forethought as to what would happen after we blew the place up. Maybe if they did we would have been a little more cautious about charging in.
As far as economics is concerned, while Bush gets the blame for the economy, as expected, this was a failure of both parties, houses of congress and the fed. We enact laws to stop the kind of activity that led to a major economic meltdown 80 years ago, then repeal them allowing the same s--- to occur again and someone actually believes that CEOs will "act responsibly" and the gov't knew they were doing it!!
Nothing will change as long as the govt is run for themselves and their rich buddies while we are here just to take the hit and pay to clean up the mess.
