Tim McGraw - "Please remember me" - HELP!

Posted by: blythe on 25 November 2003

I've been having a somewhat tongue in cheek debate with a friend in the USA and another one in France regarding the song "Please Remember Me" by Tim McGraw.
It's a favourite ballad of the 3 of us in 3 different countries and when Tim sings "pleeeeeeeease" in the chorus, there is a harmony.
The discussion is "How many parts is the harmony" and also "is there a woman singing one of the parts".
I personally think it's a 3 part harmony and suspect Tim may be singing all of the parts. However, the last time "he" sings "pleeeeeeeease" there could be a woman singing one of the parts.
There is no note of a "guest vocalist" on the CD cover...
Anyone familiar with the song wish to add their opinion?
Regards, Martin.

I thought this was the music forum and NOBODY has replied to my original post!
There must be people out there who listen to "normal" music and not only the weired, obscure stuff that I seem to read about on here!
OK, so Tim McGraw isn't Cinematic Orchestra but he is VERY good all the same............

It never ceases to amaze me!
Whilst Faith Hill might be better looking, Tim McGraw is a superb singer and unlike 14 year olds, I would have thought that anyone on here was mature enough to "admit" to liking anything!

What is it with this music forum that every piece of music has to be by some obscure person that NOBODY on my local high street would ever heard of in 1000 years! (OK there are a few exceptions!)

I am just amazed that I and 2 friends, quite independantly, love Tim McGraws music, yet no-one with Naim equipment does (except for me!)

At least you've heard of him Menilmontant1948!

I don't think "might" is in question here, she IS!

As for admitting to liking country music, that could get you branded as a "boy-bander" around here...

Smile

Depends on your type! *LOL*

As for "Boy-Bander" it really shouldn't matter if someone is, if that's what makes them happy, then so be it. I think the reason I got into some of the New Country is that it seemed to take over where good old Pop left off. Now that most Pop seems to be R&B incessant wailing style or hard core Rap, I just took to the melodic, structured format.

Many Naim users are united in having a passion for music which is distinctly of niche origin. It really doesn't surprise me that I haven't heard of half of it!

I wonder why or how that has happened. Naim users aren't so alien to other people yet it does appear that obscurity in musical taste does go hand in hand with Naim users......

It was hard not to hear about him considering the amount of fuss "Indian Outlaw" caused...

That was more than enough for me, not that I've found the majority of male country singers to be musically interesting - they all sound the same to me, except Vince Gill who can actually sing...

Being in hte UK, I never heard anything of the fuss surrounding Indian Outlaw - some do indeed sound the same and Mr Gill is a decent singer - I just find most of his material a bit too smooth and boring.
Musically, a lot of the stuff is excellant from lots of the Country singers.
Sarah Evan's last CD "Restless" is stunning (IMHO).

Interestingly, wifey's music went down the toilet shortly after marrying TM, though that might also have something to do with her attempting to emulate that previously mentioned pop tart from across the border...

Could be some truth in that though I didn't really get to know Faith's music until after she married Tim.. The thing that p*sses me off is the fact that in the USA, the "real" music is released. Over here and Europe, the powers that be "de-countrify" the music and release it as a poor Pop relation.... Happened with Shan** and Faith...... The US releases are always much better.....
