'Trane Spotting - same size, same shape, same colour..wrong numbers !

I've had "A Love Supreme" for a while and it's been getting more and more plays over time. I recently borrowed "Blue Train" and instantly fell in love with it, so went in search of my own copy. Looked like I was in luck, as the CD appeared to be on the discount rack outside the local shop, so I grabbed it in passing.

Got home, spun it and, you guessed it, it was actually called "Blue Trane" and was a compilation with a very similar cover.

So, now I'm doing my homework and it appears there might be three legitimate "Blue Trains" on CD. The original 1957 release, a gold version and a recent one called "The Ultimate Blue Train" with a couple of bonus alternate takes.

Can anybody advise me on which Train to catch ?

Cheers

John

Get the enhanced Blue Note - two bits of fun for the price of one! You can play it on your CD for the music, and put it in your PC for some extra biz, including some old shaky B&W footage including the great Miles!

BTW, has to be the most overrated Coltrane album ever, but it's still bloody good!!! (Penguin calls it the "Blue Note effect" and I agree.
