Help Please
Posted by: Martinleon on 24 February 2008
Hello everyone. I tried to go to "Help", send an e-mail to moderators but it seems I "do not have that permission"!
Thus I have no choice but to put my question here:
When I get to the forum on a specific discussion (let's say for example, "what are you listening too right now!)is there a way to click somewhere and arrive at the first unread post?
For pages that have many pages I need to remember where I was everytime etc...
Thanks

Hi Martin
If you go to the front page of the forum (e.g. Music Room), on the far right you will see a column labelled Last Post.
For each thread you will see the time/date of the last post, with the member ID.
The member ID is a link to the end of the thread.
Have fun - John

Hello 555. Thanks for the quick reply. I have noticed that "Last Post" link. However, this link brings you to the actual last post of the thread not necessarily the last one unread.
In other forum (I guess with the help of cookies) your computer and the forum remember what was the last post you read for each thread you have been too. Next time you log on you can click on an icon or something that brings you to the first unread post of each thread (not necessarily the last post).

Hello again!
Sorry I misread you orig' Q!
On the far left of the front page of the forums you will see a column with folder icons.
If the icon is yellow it has new content, if it is "greyed" out no new content.
If you hover your cursor over the icon you get a mini dialog box which confirms this.
Cheers - John

Yes, I have notice this. However, you can not click on this icon which could bring you to "new content you haven't read yet".
So far I have not find a way that can bring you directly to the START of the posts you have not read yet.
This is very frustrating because you have to click on the last post (on the right) and then scroll up (including going to previous pages) until you hit a date and time you "think" you did not read!
Other forum have this capability.
