UnitiServe to be DAAP compatible?

Anyone know if Naim plan to add DAAP capabilities to the UnitiServe or HDX?

Even if the Naim music server platform added DAAP compatibility, one would still be unable to copy music from a DAAP shared library directly onto an iPod.
For what it's worth, iTunes' lack of support for multiple storage volumes within a single user library makes it extremely problematic for any simultaneous, multi-purpose music management (e.g., iPod management, UPnP streaming, music sharing, disc ripping) - in fact, iPod management is the one thing iTunes does well that the Naim music servers do not at all.

DAAP has other advantages besides (not) being able to copy to an iPod. The library showing up in iTunes is nice just by itself. Also, one could stream UnitiServe music to an Airport Express or AppleTV via a laptop this way too.
Also, you make a good argument to support DAAP. Since a Uniti does such great multi-volume multi-library music management, and since all that behind-the-scenes stuff is hidden from iTunes via DAAP, iTunes is a great way to play Naim-stored music on a computer.
With this, one would merely have to set up a bonjour-enable tunnel/vpn back home when they're on the go, and they'll be able to stream their entire HDX/UnitiServe library to their laptop anywhere in the world, and use AirTunes to send it to their "away" hifi
Sounds fun to me!

Most people want iPod compatibility, not necessarily streaming to their Mac–but a good point nonetheless.

The Ipod, although phenomenally successful, is old technology and even Apple are preparing to move onwards. Like it or not streaming music and video are the next step.
Like all traditional audio companies it took Naim and Linn time to adjust to the Ipod world - now that they have they need to realize that the world will not wait around long enough for them to feel pleased with themselves.
Some measure of compatibility with Itunes / Airtunes is needed - either as an add on box or as part of a firmware update.
I can't help feeling that UPnP could end up as the Zune or betamax of streaming.
