My Mates Sinclair Problem!

I quote:

if you have a little spare brain capacity. I find that one of my 'silver surfers' served in the RAF as a flying instructor in Canada, during the recent unpleasantness between the German people and ourselves. He even wrote a book about it.
Now comes the tricky bit. He wrote it on a Sinclair QL!
I have been trying to find a way, other than print / scan / OCR, to get it into a form editable on a PC. Lots of emulators to run QL progs. on a PC or Mac, but data is still in the native format. You, or any of your circle, got any ideas?

Many thanks if someone has any isea at all!

Wild guess - have you had a look at what Kermit can do

Kermit

Many decades ago I used it to transfer data from a BBC computer to an IBM PC

My answer was based on that you needed to transfer data from the sinclair to the PC - I assume that when you get it to the PC you can find programs that will strip control characters from the text - the text can then be read into a text editor /word processor to be reformatted.

If the text contains any accented characters they might get lost in the stripping process.

Looking at the Kermit site they do have a program for two different Sinclair computers.

Let us know how you eventually solve the problem please
