Not sure which version you're referring to. However, it might be something from Godard's 1+1 which has just been released on DVD. It features extensive footage of the Stones recording Sympathy for the Devil. You can see the song develop through several versions. From a slow, acoustic, bluesy shuffle to the rocky samba they ended up releasing.
Hope I haven't made the film seem interesting. The studio footage is interspersed with impenatrable dramatised 60's 'revolutionary chic'. It really is the most self-indulgent wank. I'm as big a Stones freak as anyone and I had trouble sitting through it. Not an excercise I'll be repeating.

The DVD was given away free with The sunday Times last weekend. It's currently sitting on top of a pile of similar freebies that one day I'm going to sit down and watch. it will no doubt be available for 50p in a charity shop somewhere near you in the very near future.

Hi
I was just reading that thread.
There is a remix of that song on The Forty Licks double CD. It is called the Neptunes Remix, remixed and re-edited by The Neptunes.
Hope this is the song you are looking for.
cheers

I'm sure I've got it on a CD single but I'm damned if I can find it right now. There were if I recall a couple of remixes on it. Being an old fogey I still prefer the original!

Oh definatly chris i also prefer the original but as ive got most of the stones back catalogue i wanted this damn remix.

Hello Scotty
My 40 licks double CD has the catalogue number 724359310121, check on google
I found that on eil.com:

I have a cd single which has the orignal, the neptunes (radio edit) and FatBoy Slim (full length) remix at 8m 22s versions of sympathy.
It also has a Neptunes remix bonus video.
lmk if you need the catalouge number.

Hi Scotty
as far as I know SACD cd's have two layers, a normal cd which will play on your cdx2 and an sacd layer which wont play on your cdx2 because its hdcd
If you want to borrow my copy and check before you buy ( and assuming I'm not breaking any forum rules ) email me at gtconnolly1@mac.com

HDCD is not the same as SACD (which needs an SACD player).
High Definition CD was designed to replay on CD players. My CDX and CDS2 have both been ok with them.
