Where are you our good old fashioned gentelman?

Cheers

Hi Gianluigi,

Yes, Nime seems to have disappeared. I guess as far as the forum is concerned people come and go over the years and some also pass on in other ways of course. I hope nothing bad has happened to him and that all is well.

Regards,

Erik

Similarly, Spock and Happy Chick have not been spotted for a while. Are these disappearances related?

I didn't always agree with Nime, but I certainly enjoyed discussions with him. I hope he's just taken a break.

Dear Friends,

I doubt that Nime has just taken a break.

I am not in contact, and do not have any information, but I would tend to think he had reached a point, where he no longer felt that his contribution was much valued...

A strange world we participate in, this Forum. People materialise at the blink of an eye, people evaporate at the blink of an eye.

Fredrik,

Then he would be wrong. I for one valued his contbribution and I am sure I am not alone in thinking that. He seemed a very decent sort IMO.

and what about NB a year after his 10000 post?
Posted on: 06 April 2006 by Alexander
through a forum you can hurt people's feelings instantly on the other side of the world. The pentagon already expressed interest.

I agree absolutely with Erik about Nime. I miss his posts very much. But one only had to look at the way it was going to see that he might well just collect his coat, leave, and shake the very dust from his shoes. A shame, and I really hope I am wrong in this view.

Unless he's gone on holiday or something similar, I'm guessing he just got bored.

This is no place to expect anyone to take notice of what you say, let alone respect what you say. I don't think Nime would have had such expectations. Like I said, bored.

Tut tut, SJB...get with the programme!

I can assure you that "NB" is still very much here, albeit reincarnated as an indigenous creature of Earth's northern (and southern?) climes.

Wake up!

I think some folk here can get v passionate about things. Sometimes that can rub folk the wrong way...

I know I can get trapped in to negative threads - both in hifi corner (where I've bought a product that has not been successful and feel obliged to help stop somebody else falling in to the same trap, but then I invoke a response from another forum member who thinks it is a great product and treats it as a personal attack or seems to); and on the music thread (where it is all to easy to express personal views in a harsh way such as 'X is rubbish' when I just mean it is not music I prefer).

I don't care if somebody says I'm deaf for preferring the CDX2 to the CD5 (I know they just mean they don't share my view) or somebody calls my favourite band 'Garbage', but I know some folks can take offense.

I hope Nime does post again - I like reading his and others views - especially if they are different from mine - after all I know what I think (well at least most times), so it is refreshing to learn what somebody else thinks.

Eh? One of my favourite bands is 'Garbage'! Butch Vig is great on the drums and, as for Shirley Manson - what a lead singer!

They sure are.

Both Spock and Happy Chick are doing fine. Happy Chick is at an Ann Summers party tonight so only good things will come of that. Mind you price of batteries these days...

So how long has Nime been gone? He was a good ole mucker so I'm hoping he is just taking some time out.

Regards

Spock

Well.....

The party was ..... disturbing

I witnessed over weight bored housewives making a mockery of themselves.

Maybe they should remake the TV Series "Desperate Housewives" again .... Cos, I have just seen REAL DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES in action

And…. It is not a pretty site.

..... he belled me about he post.

I was gonna come on next week and tell you guys about my new speakers ... A strange choice..MK stand mounts and sub.

Will get new cables next week ... so will post the details later.
