Whats the best time of year to have turf laid? I am extending my small lawn and want to cause the least dissruption in case the sun comes out again and my little daughter wants to play outside. I live in NE England.Thanks.

I'm no green-fingered expert, but I would think Spring time is best, as it is at the beginning of the growing season.
Winter would be a no-no, I would think, as nothing much grows.
Autumn, you may get away with if its early autumn, & the turf has time to get established before winter.
Summer would be OK as long as you can water it in thoroughly, ie no hosepipe ban!
