Why would a dog do this?

I know this is funny: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3680494780921613091&q=dumb+dog

...... but why would the poor creature be doing it?

Dear Nime and Gianluigi,

I was told that the method of persuading the dog to be fine (and a good worker) was brutality. I found eye contact and sheer bloody swearing (Fred you Baaaarstard) worked the trick, with the consequence that unlike most working dogs he was truly wonderful of character and nature, and, when the Thread comes off, on one occasion nigh herioc in a simple way.

Dear Fredrik!
This is false!
Brutality is for those who don't love their dogs but see them only as a thing to show around.
I deeply hate people who use brutality on their dogs.
Dogs pretend coherence and coherence is hard to find in stupid people.

Never need to do this.
Just a look in the eyes and everything was clear.[/QUOTE]

Ciao Gianluigi,

I had a Swedish girlfriend who had a springer spaniel which was the most intelligent dog I've ever known - I swear she could read minds. One good look into her eyes and she understood everything. I was crazy about her. When my girlfriend came to visit she was surprised to see a photo by my bed - not of her - but of her dog!

Thanks Tony.

Well in that case, if you look closely at the bottom of the dogs leg (seen better later on in the movie) you can see a human hand pushing it up to annoy the dog on purpose.
