What about this from His team mate Steven Defour. "If ref Nzolo had reacted for a foul on me, this wouldn’t have happened," the captain says. "Anderlecht got what they asked for. We might have crossed the line once and a while, but Anderlecht did the same. Without being cautioned. That’s why I say: what Anderlecht can do, we can as well."
Not the kind of player I would like at Everton & to think we were interested in both players!

One of the worst tackles I've ever seen. I hope he even walks again let alone plays. I'm sure Eduardo will want to face him when Arsenal play Liege in the Champions League.

Having broken my leg in two places playing football, I just can't watch this sort of stuff. I mean I literally can't watch it at all.

My good.

I watched it several times....

Witsel is doing this by purpose and goes no way near the ball..you can clearly see him stomping in a up/down-movement...

Ban for life. I would sue him.

Suspect it may do Witsel's career almost as much damage as the unfortunate Polish player.

Witsel is(was) the golden boy of Belgium football and was speculated to be on the verge of a £15-20m pound move to Chelsea or Man Utd last winter. He's only 20 and at the start of his playing career but this could hang over it for the rest of that period. I think wherever he goes fans and the media are never going to stop reminding him of this incident. Allied to the death threats he's now receiving,I suspect he's quite traumatised and must be deeply regretting his actions.

Honestly,

dear Sister E,

I really hope he is quite traumatized...such an act of icecold brutality has no place in any kind of sport...just watch the time-loop.
Nothing at all but pure intention.

His foot goes nowhere near the ball.
And when he gets the red card, I can see a stupid smile in his face.

No excuse for such bullshit. This is clearly like a crime. Like intentional mayhem.

Dear Luxen,

I totally agree with on all your points. MY point was that even if it was totally premeditated it wasn't exactly a good career move from a very talented player with a bright future,

Have a look at the tackle at 1m-10s and the goal at 3m-15s

I can't wait.

Talking about brutal attacks. I just saw this clip for the first time, being banned for just a year seems rather light, the guy deserves jail time IMHO.
