ARO

Hi,
I am currently looking for info/advices on the ARO tonearm.
Everything I have read about it is generally compliments and it is clear that the ARO is a great match to a LP12.
But I am concerned about the matching with my Thorens TD124 with a home-made heavy plinth.
Searching the net, I stumbled upon a review from one Markus Sauer from Stereophile who wrote that the Aro was a good match to the following TTs (list non exhaustive):
"Linn Sondek, Phonosophie P3, Roksan Xerxes, Platine Verdier".
On the contrary Art Dudley, in Listener Vol 7, No 5, tends to say that the ARO is not well suited for, I quote, "TTs with massive, energy-storing platters and plinths".
This describes the TD124, but also the Platine Verdier (if I'm not wrong).
So, is it a total waste of time (and money) to put an ARO on 124 or not?
Is there someone who have done it on a Garrard, for example?
I am interested to have the opinion of the ARO users out there, especially persons who use it in something else than the good ol' LP12.
(FYI today my TD124 is equipped with a ITTOK LVII + Benz Micro Glider MC/High Output)
