Time has come to change the cartridge on my Roksan Xerxes Turntable with Artemiz arm.
I also need to purchase a phono stage to go between my TT and my 252.
Suggestions are welcome, as are suggestions on dealers in the Leicester area who can do this for me.

John,
my budget is about £1000 for the cartridge and £1000 for the phone stage.

NB,
The new Prefix is due in a couple of weeks, I'd go for that. Maybe it's already available in UK.
That should leave 1500 pounds for the cart. Go for a Koetsu if you can get one for the price (actually no problem direct from Japan although avoid Black or Urushi) or an Ortofon B, depending on your tastes. One is unique, carefully crafted, sultry seductive, affectionate and satisfying and the other is consistent, headstrong, secure, open-minded and rewarding - I'll leave you to work out which is which! Probably, a lot of people would find either choice crude. I have found no other worthwhile alternatives so far (duck!), unless you have a real opportunity to compare in your system 5 or 6 of the 1500 GBP cartridges that are available. If you go for the Ortofon B then you could buy more records or perhaps Fraim, whichever you're short of?
Good luck - Jeremy
