Harbeth HL-P3 positioning
Posted by: nodrog on 20 November 2002
Am now the proud owner of a circa 1990 pair of the above and beginning to find out what I have been missing in terms of mid-range and a more believable bass than the previous Rocksolids. They're on Kan II stands, which fit perfectly, and as they are biwirable, I'll be doing the 'F' connection thing with my NAC A5 soon.
My question is about placement: how far should these be away from the back and side walls? My experience is with Kans, which were as close to the rear wall as physically possible, but the Harbeths are getting steadily further away with each listen. Is there an 'optimum' distance. My room is about 4m x 3m. The speakers are on the 3m side.
Cheers,
Peter
