NEW POP QUIZ
Posted by: BigH47 on 28 February 2005
The US POP QUIZ seemed to be petering out. So I suggested we "open" it up to general pop/music. It was suggested that I get it started. Me and my big fingers!
Ok here goes:-
A group who could also be a farming system. Current and not particularly well known chartwise.
Howard
I have added this question to the end of the US one as well.We could stick with the new thread or ask for the original to be re-named? Others may have switched off the original thread.

OK then:
He was: Jacques Mesrine
Song title: Le Mitard
Artist: Trust
And here it is - marvellous track:
LE MITARD
Oui, Madame !
Mesrine
Je vous vois une larme...!
Pourquoi vous attrister ?
Pauvre chien me dites-vous !

"he had a long moustache to pull on
it was yellow
I don't believe he ever had a girl
one thing he missed out in his theory
of time and space and relativity
is something that makes it very clear he
was never gonna score like you and me
he didn't know about..."

So who said
What are you crazy?
How in the hell can you say what you just said?
I was talking to myself.
Shut the door and come to bed.
By the way, I forgot to say, your endearing mother called today.
Did you see Lisa?
Yes I saw Lisa.
Is that why angry?
I wasn't angry.
Maybe a little.
Not even maybe.
Must be the weather.
Now don't be a baby.
And on what album did one of the world finest bands pay tribute to him in a song that starts
Well I heard a lovely rumor,
That Bette Midler had a tumor,
So gleefully I went to tell my friends.
But they said it was a lie,
That she wasn't going to die,
"And by the way, have we got news for you!"

Eeeks - looks like I will have to think about this one. I will resist the urge to google for the time being.

Well, the first part is that 70's abomination Dean Freidman's Lucky Stars (I should be embarrased to know that). No idea about the tribute song, I'll take a guess, Dandy Warhols.

Malky
Spot on the first half - did you know he had his own web site click here (for the very sad only)
The second half was not the Dandy Warhols, but it was a really good guess.

It was Half Man Half Biscuit from their touching tribute song to Dean called "(You can thank your luck stars you're not) the b@st@rd son of Dean Friedman."
