Hi
If there is another group of fanatics comparable
to this group here is Magnepan owners.
Anyone here ever had the opportunity to listen?
I came across a review of the Nait 5 with the reviewer using a pair of 1.6s.Nait 5 Review

BTW, I still have my eye on the Mystiques Wink

Maggies will quite happily see off anything Naim or most other makes for that matter.
PRAT doesn't enter into it as they are able to deliver MUSIC.

Interesting reviews of the Nait 5. It is a very good amp, one of the best in its price range.
Only let down by its hard sounding mid range, though this is compared to the magnificent Sugden A21 is the best sounding up to 2500 grand, imo.

BTW, if we're looking for alternative amps that do music as #1, its gotta be the Unison Research Unico - amazing vfm!

But Josh and J8hn, I want a musical SYSTEM, not speakers and amplifiers!

Josh,

Thanks - interesting that you have both CDP and amp from Unison. I would like to hear it, but have a fat chance of that over here.

I agree that the Unico is a great amp. (which also looks beautiful imho!)
But,... about 5 months ago I had the chance to compare my trusty old Nait-2 against the Unico.
I really wanted to prefer the Unico (because of the remote, more power, and looks) but in the end............. I kept the Nait!
(the Unico was better in the drive/dynamics department, but the Nait seemed to be slightly more open in the mids, and I prefered the more direct sound compared to the smooth tuby sound of the Unico.
Still, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't hasitate to recommend the Unico also!
The fact that they can drive many kinds of speakers is quite a nice bonus.
I bet they're perfectly capable for driving some Maggie's.
