Gomez - two 180g vinyl releases

Posted by: JWM on 28 March 2009

The first four Gomez studio albums (Bring It On, Liquid Skin, In Our Gun, Split the Difference) were on the sadly now-defunct Hut label, and were all released on vinyl - 180g? heavy, anyway.

On the new label the next studio album (How We Operate) had only a CD and MP3 release. And their new album (A New Tide), which is being released about now, also looked like a CD/MP3-only release.

BUT Ta rah! Not only are Gomez now releasing 'A New Tide' on 180g vinyl (about a fortnight after cd release), they have already released 'How We Operate' on double 180g vinyl.

Both are limited edition. Available only from the gomeztheband dot com band website and some independent record shops in USA. But good news nonetheless.

Cost guide. On the band website they are $16 and $25 respectively. I got them both for $16 each at cd universe.

How We Operate had some kind of vinyl release - there's one sitting on my record racking already Smile But 's good news regardless.

For some reason the UK/Europe store just shows vinyl 'coming soon', you need to go to the US version of the store to actually be able to order one.

This is great news, as I have the others on vinyl. Sound should improve a bit too if the others are to go by.

Will be getting an order asap.

Thanks James (again)
