Can anyone tell me if you can buy Joe Walsh singing "Help me through the night" on CD with the eagles. It's only on the "Hell freezes over DVD and not the CD

Simple answer is no. You can get his original version on his album So What

To me So What is one of those discs that need a remastering job done on it.
Though Smoker you Drink etc etc is still my personal Walsh favourite.

If you want a great collection of songs featuring Mr Joe Walsh then I recommend
The closing track Ashes, the Rain and I is a real gem amongst gems.

Totally agree ROTF, their first album 'Yer Album' is also worth a listen. By the time 'Thirds' came out I think they'd lost it though. For me Joe Walsh solo and in the James Gang is way better than the Eagles. They were always a bit too laid back for my liking.
Cheers

The Eagles with Walsh opened a new concert venue last night in Los Angles. Dixie Chicks opened for them. The reviewer was ecstatic about the sound and how well they sounded together doing new works, little known works and of course the big hits. He liked how each band member kept his own signature style but they all played off each other well. Some edgy and others laid back.
Wish I'd gone but $300 a ticket is out of my range. That's before scalpers......

My votes for James Gang albums are the Yer album, Thirds and the Live one. I have always loved the live disc and wish they could have released the whole concert.
There is actually a little funny story that Joe used to tell people. Pete Townsend was one of those pepole who championed Joe over here. Joe thought that Townsend was a god.
So when the James Gang were playing the London Palladium one night Townsend snuck into the backstage. Joe turned round saw him and shat his pants. He had to go off and get his pants changed and get a roadie to wipe his arse. The band played on for a few minutes without him.
Not thats what you call hero worship.

I'm a big fan of the Barnstorm album, especially the track 'Giant Behemoth'. Not sure why, it just sounds good!
