Fashion - The Height of Fashion

I CANNOT BELIEVE this has been re-released.

If you lived in Birmingham in the early '80s and were remotely cool, this is who you were listening to / going to see.

Fashion were a funk/synth/rock band. At the time they were a tiny bit dangerous, a bit sinister.

This release is simply a re-issue of "Fabrique" under a new name.

So is this a recommendation ? Sadly, no. I'm getting a massive kick out of this album, I think it still sounds superb, but it is twenty years old now and sounds a bit thin and a bit dated (but not much).

It is however, a recommendation to keep trying those search engines for that old out of print album that you still want.

But why ? Why re-release an album twenty years later that probably didn't sell that many when it was new ? How many of those who bought it then would still be looking for it now ?

Who cares ? I'm listening to it right now and loving it !

I saw then about 20 years ago (re-visiting friends at Lufbra Uni), they were supported by Kajagoogoo!!!! eek

Quite enjoyed the gig (as you can imagine the support set was a hoot!!! Limahl (sp?) looked a prize turkey even for those days - Mullet city!!!) and later bought Fabrique (haven't played it for years though - but 'Dressed to Kill' features on one of my in-car compilation tapes).

As to why its been re-released - who knows?
