Highs and lows of the weekend

After ordering a new rack (Atacama Equinox)last week, it should have been delivered on Friday between 8 - 6. So I decided to take the day off and wait for the package so I could set it up for some hardcore listening over the weekend.....

6:01 No stand. I get on the blower to Parcelforce to find out the wear abouts of my new stand. After a number of heated conversations (9.14pm to be exact) the manager of the Tonbridge depot calls back. "The agency driver has gone missing with your parcel, blah blah blah. Can I call you in the Morning?"

12:43 Sat afternoon I call the tonbridge depot to speak to Keith (the manager) "Oh yes" he says. "It seems that the driver has stolen your parcels! and the matter is now with Kent Police. Can I call you back on Monday?"

OK it's now monday morning and I have not heard anything. Keith is not in. THe guy who sold the rack is not at work and I am stressed. Needless to say HSBC Credit card services are now trying to get my cash back.

Keep you posted on the events of this.

And to the highs. After taking advice from you on the sub £1000 bookshelve speakers, I took note of all that was said and went for a demo at my local.

After listening to a number of speakers, the dealer said, check these out, you will like them. So, he then produces some B&W CDM7 NT's (I know they are not bookshelves) So I listened, fell in Love and then asked the price. Well they are NORMALLY about £1250 but these have a scratch on them so you can have them for £750. Out came the plastic and they are now sitting in my front room.

I have the standmount baby brother of your speakers - the CDM1NT.

They're lovely. Is the bass a bit too much?

Woody

I have only had it on quiet over the weekend (too busy stressing over parcelforce) so I have not found the bass to hard.

All sounding very good at the mo though. Big Grin

cool...I'm at home at the moment with the wife away and I'm kind of wondering if I couldn't use a bit more bass extension. Or to change to NAC282/NAP250 Big Grin (maybe the B&Ws are a bit power thirsty for the nait5)

Parcelforce have finally admitted that the driver has made off with the delivery van and all the contents. 55 in total, apparently he still can not be reached and his girlfriend has not seen him since Friday morning.

Anyway... the dealer is now sending me a new rack, well as soon as it is in stock. Now I just have to wait for their call....Mad
