Absolutely agree - I thought Karine Polwart was the star, but the whole show was superb.

Tonight - Friday 3rd March's show was absolutely fantastic.
North Country Maid - Norma Waterson
Willow Tree = Eliza Carthy and Norma Waterson
Reynardine - Sheila Chandra
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Kathryn Williams
Beloved One - Lou Rhodes
Fine Horseman and Lili Marlene - June Tabor
Foolish One - Eliza Carthy
This Woman's Work - Kathryn Williams, Eliza Carthy and Lou Rhodes
Strange Weather - Norma Waterson
Winter Is Blue - Vashti Bunyan
Down By The Water - Lou Rhodes and Sheila Chandra
Blackwater Side - Kathryn Williams
Ain't No Sweet Man - Eliza Carthy and Norma Waterson
Who Knows Where The Time Goes - All
Very, very impressed by Lou Rhodes, already ordered her album Beloved One
And of course to see Vashti live on the TV after all the years was, for me, just about as good as it gets - my record collection wouldn't have been complete without Just Another Diamond Day, I wore out the vinyl version, but thankfully was able to get it again on CD last year. It is up there with Folk Roots, New Roots and Anthems In Eden as one of the great albums.
So well done - the BBC, you made it worth owning a Freeview box after all.
Now if you could just put an evening of Shirley Collins and a Half Man, Half Biscuit concert on then I'd never complain about the license fee again.

Jolly good - Tabor joined in the first 'North Country maid' ensemble song, but didn't the great finale. I liked Vashti & very fetid Kathryn Williams particularly, and as much as I like Tabor was pleased to be reminded why I chose to send wife/friend to her in Bristol next week rather than to go again myself (although her last/current album is quite jolly).
