Help Needed, (although possibly not as important as the other thread)

Well, the demise of the xx-1 was quick and painless (no loss of vinyl)

However it leaves me in a bit of a state, I have put the klyde back on. Although I suppose it would be obvious that I would not be as happy as I was with the DV, I am horrified.

Bass weight has gone, completly.

Treble is harsh, I mean really harsh, I was so concerned I had to check the connecting wires to be sure nothing was crossed.

I am confident the klyde is in no way damaged, also I feel sure it did not sound like this prior to the xx-1.

Also whilst on the subject records seem to display cracks and pops on the right hand speaker more than the left, (related?)

Anyway if any one can offer advise, walk me through instalation to insure I havn't screwed up etc, that would be nice.

I really miss the DV, still it was on borrowed time.

I don't know if you can get it serviced, I've never seen any reference to ES or anyone else repairing DVs. However, you should be able to get a decent discount (~20%) if you trade it in on a new DV.

Guys I don't have funds to fix or trade the xx-1. Also although I am no expert I can tell you its the barrel in which the cantiliver enters which has snapped, not the catiliver.

I would imagine this would be classed as a write off
