Hello Kevin
Can't leave you with no replies. It just goes to show how expensive a slight tailing off in form can be. Pardew achieved in grand style, and a few bad results finished him. I'm tempted to say "What a tough job" but I rather suspect he'll be back in work fairly soon.
Best wishes, Ears

Two decent managers gone. Dowie, now Pardew - the curse of the Palace continues....
Ask Charlton fans how much good that did them.
Pardew was up against it with all the back room crap. He's a decent coach and I'm sure he'll be back.
Steve.

Promotion to the big-boys league, a top ten finish & an FA cup final count for nowt when 6 mths later you're 3rd from bottom, I guess.
Some of the "big-name" (for WHU) haven't shown up this season, especially N R-C, & the strikers. We have been unlucky in a few games, but thats footie!
As ever, the conversation carries on as to whether its the boss or the players fault, & it'll be interesting to see who gets ofloaded in a month or so.
Looks like its Curbishley next (I'd still go for Venables though) but didn't Curbs recently get the shove from the Addicks for poor results?
matt.

WHU are making an official statement at 3pm today, which I guess will confirm Curbs' appointment.
Pards did exceptionally well - and I have to say I was dead set against him for the first season he was in charge. I was wrong.
But apparently he lost control of some of the big egos in the dressing room - young confident players can quickly become young egomaniacs - and there were all sorts of rumours about his private life and his own - not inconsiderable -ego.
Pards was also desperately unlucky in that our most crucial player - Ashton - was injured before the season even started.
Hopefully Curbs will be able to put a rocket up Reo-Coker, Ferdinand, Matty and Benyaoun's collective arses and get the playing at the standard of which they are capable.
Bring on Man U! [note typical irrational Hammers optimism]

Are you nuts?
This man's publicity machine is something else.
I'm sure the fans of QPR, Palace, Portsmouth, Leeds etc. don't share your enthusiasm for the bandit, El Tel. The man's a spiv and relies on the sports journos that frequent his boozers for slavishly puffing him.
Jeeze, success years ago with a Barcelona team that my gran could have managed and a '96 Euro run courtesy of a blind linesman (v Spain).
Never has a reputation been built on so little.
Ok maybe John Barnes,

Actually Steve, I've got a bit of a soft spot for Terry (or 'Veg' as he used to be known when he was captain at QPR in the early seventies), although I do agree with most of the rest of what you said. He's a good coach, with some good ideas but he's not a No 1 and there is too much 'spivving' going on that detracts from his credibility as a football man.

El Tel, Too much spivving??
Come on, the 'ammers had Mr. Redknapp for a good few years, we love a spiv!
Anyway, all the best to mr Pardew, & lets hope Curbs gets off to a good start. Only Manure to beat on Saturday. Should be a breeze

I predict a draw for you Hammers against Manure. At least you'll be doing your London chums a favour though. I can see Chelsea being back in front of them by the end of the festive fixtures.
