Which NAS drive for the Uniti?

Hi Paul , welcome to the forum .
If you do a search on the Forum you should come up with a few ideas with regard to compatability , ease of use and noise etc .
In my case I use a Buffalo Linkstation Live 1TB
which sits in an office upstairs and is linked to my system by CAT5e cable through the house walls . Very easy to set up , strait forward interface and has a print server on it as well .

I use a Netgear ReadyNas Duo connected to an Apple airport extreme with my Uniti. All works perfectly. I believe the time capsule is essentially an airport extreme with HD storage added so should not be a problem.

If you mean utilising the drive built into the Apple TimeCapsule, then no it will not work with he Unity. You need a NAS which has a UPnP server - I'll leave it to others to suggest some devices which they've found work.

The NAS can happily connect to your TimeCapsule via UTP (Ethernet) cable and use that for networking however.

I have a Netgear Ready NAS Duo, works fine with Uniti but as I do not connect wirelesly but over an Apple Airport I have to say that the noise the fan is producing does disturb me. So I decided to purchase a Ripnas (see ripnas.com) which has no fans but can directly rip to the internal hard drives (Flac, WAV, AAC). Should arrive within the next days. Will report back then.
