Michael Rabin question.

Anyone familiar with his works? I'd like to pick up one of his versions of Pagannini's Caprices and don't know if I should go for the version he did for Columbia betweeen 1950-'53, or the more recent EMIK which they remastered in 2001. Thanks.

I have never heard the Columbia one, but I have the EMI (in an older remastering, included in the Rabin boxed set), and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this one; I think it's the EMI one to be considered a classic, and maybe the greatest version of the Capricci.
