Alternatives for MC boards in NAC62
Posted by: musfed on 13 November 2003
Hi,
Going from a Nait2 (am not allowed to sell it, girlfriend likes it to much!!!) to a 62/140 combi I am confronted with the fact that the 62 has MC boards while I am having an Grado MM element.
Do I have to go hunting mm boards (na322?) or can I use an alternative so I would be able to use an external phonoamp?
Thanks,
HJ

You can get "straight through" boards to take the place of the MC boards, and then use an external phono amp. Alternatively, you might find that someone will swap some 322 boards for your 323 - unless you want to keep them for when/if you change to a low output M/C!

Thanks Richard,
Are those straight through boards numbered NA326?
(only 2hand or new as well?)
Guess I would be interested in a trade for my boards. For some reason I like the idea of having an external Phonoamp. Probably don't have a reason for keeping the MC boards. Will think about that.

I think it's 326 for the straight through, yes.
The fewer boxes the better, in a lot of ways. I have some MM boards, but I already have MC as well, so don't really want to trade. I'm sure you'll find someone who is willing to do so though, as the usual path is from MM to MC, so the wind's in your direction, so to speak.
There is a thriving second hand section on the Pink Fish forum, if I'm allowed to mention that here....
