Outlook email help needed please

Posted by: London Lad on 26 October 2006

Hi all,

I run outlook 2003 with 3 email accounts.

If I send an email and receive a reply to it, when I click on the 'reply' button outlook will select the account that I used to send the original email and not necessarily my default account.

Are there any hacks or simple add ons that will set the default mail account to be the default for replies as well?

Thanks all

Kind regards

Graham

If you've already asked the paperclip. Ignore this.

Have replies to your messages sent to a different e-mail account
This feature is not available when using a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account.

You can specify a different account to be used when a recipient sends a reply to your message. For example, if you send a message and then go on vacation to visit a friend, you can specify in Microsoft Outlook that replies to your message be sent to your friend's account.

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
In the list, click the e-mail account that you sent the message from, and then click Change.
Click More Settings, and then, in the Reply E-mail box, type the e-mail address of the account that you want replies sent to.
Note Make sure you change the Reply E-mail box when you no longer want replies sent to an alternate account for new messages. Even after you make the change, any replies to messages you sent with an alternate reply-to address will still be sent to the other account.

Hi Beano, This is the reverse of my problem, I am trying to control which account my reply is sent from not to.

Thanks for trying

Graham,

There should be a pull down menu at the top called accounts. This enables you to select which account will be used to send from before sending.

Willy.

Hi Willy,

Yes but what I'm trying to do is avoid having to do that every time.

Hi Beano,

Thanks but I have been there already.

I have done extensive searches all over the web and forums, I think I need someone who knows how to do it or has done it.

It will be a hack or add on rather than a feature.
