Sun Spots spell disaster!

Posted by: chfs911 on 31 October 2003

I read in the London Times on Thursday that the sun has an increase in sun spot activity and the Earth was to be showered with electomagnetic radiation over the next couple of days! Power supplies may be affected and the Northern Lights were to be seen as far south as Watford;O)
Question is:- Is it worth going to the Scottish Hi-Fi show this weekend or are all the demos going to sound crap?

How may of you are going to power down your systems just in case we get some induced cosmic radiation through the mains?

God knows what it all means, but I have Timo Mass playing real loud and it sounds f**king marvelous!

I doubt it would do anything except interfer with radio and satelite communications.

but you might pull that pyramid hat out of your closet and wear it while listening to CDs and vinyl. Wink

Just to be safe I'll unplug my Galaxie 17 from the NAT02!

As for CDs all I would do with them is leave them shiney side up in the garden to reflect as many rays as possible and hope the LP12s are unaffected:O)

Where can you buy the pyramid hats? All sold out around here as it's Halloween. Wife might have a spare one with her broomstick;O) I'd look cool at the Edinburgh show!

I was hoping to generate some serious conversation but like all my threads they degenerate to up, down, and strange particles after a couple of replies!

I heard that the sky was falling as well!

" I heard the sky was falling..."

Only on one side of the earth !

Unplug all hi-fi and stay indoors until the danger is passed.

Seriously, there is no danger, the earth's magnetic field will deflect most of the sun's high energy particles.
