Can I get rid of a plane ticket in record time without loosing too much money ?

Hi folks,

I'm supposed to fly to Melbourne in six days time, but for some urgent reason - which still won't be accepted by any insurance - I cannot go.

Does someone know whether there's an ebay-like place on the Web where tickets can be traded ? BTW I don't know anything about laws concerning changing names on the ticket etc.

Many thanks.

Tickets issued in your name cannot be used by someone else. Period.

If you have a fully open ticket, you can post-date your travel, or get a partial refund. Cheap fares can only be upgraded (for the same class of travel) if you wish to reuse them at a later date. Otherwise they generally fall under the "use it or lose it" classification.
