Seperate DAC for N vi

Can you connect a seperate DAC from a N vi to a 52?

What cables would I need?

Is it likely to make a difference?

Thanks

Yes, but you will only get signal from digital sources feeding the n-Vi. The analog sources are not digitalized by the n-Vi.
But i don't see your point, the n-Vi Dacs are excellent, why do you want to by-pass them?
You can feed your 52 directly from the front channel analog output socket.

Thanks Manu
I may not have a point, that's my point.
I read all the time about a good DAC working wonders with a decent transport and assumed that the vi would have the latter but not the former.
I have read where this has been successful with the DVD 5 and wondered if the N vi would also benefit.

Manu,

As a matter of interest which external DAC's have you compared those of the n-Vi to?

Duncan,
I have not made A-B comparaison of the n-Vi's dacs vs others... it is impossible to do anyway (you can not isolate the DAC). The n-Vi is a single box home theater unit, it is not the purpose of this unit to be complemented by other boxes.
If you want a better Naim solution, go with the AV2, its DACs and power supplies are better.
