I bought the adapter for £23, and am having some weird retro fun.
Anyone else?

Adaptors are great aren't they. I fancy getting a M4/3 just for my classic M lenses.
These are great too [in moderation]

I've got one of those lenses sitting sadly disused on my old Olympus OM-1N. So I can fit it to my Canon then? Didn't know that.quote:Originally posted by Tony Lockhart:

Yes
I use a 40D plus M42 adapter with focus confirm. Adapters are great fun, although personally I have a high failure rate. Anybody who owns a few good quality prime lenses should give it a try.

Tonym,
Mine was off my OM1n too! I also have a 24mm f2.8 Zuiko. I sold the rest to fund my fist DSLR. I might keep my eye on cheap lenses now.

Here's mine, in situ. Grovelling through my old camera bits this morning I've come across a Super Paragon 80-200 f4.5 & a Miranda 28mm f2.8, plus the original 1.8 50 mm Zuiko.
A few years back I took all my Olympus bits to a S/H dealer to flog them off. I was offered a surprisingly good price for them (certainly more than I paid for the OM-1N in 1977 or thereabouts) but at the last minute I just couldn't bear to part with them!
Think I'll stick a roll of 35mm through it...

For years I have been using Olympus cameras and have a lovely stock of lenses. Recently purchased a Olympus digital body and an adpter so all my old lenses will fit the new body. Great results.

The Zuiko lenses are pretty special.
Nice pick Julian, nice to see an R8/9 first thing in the morning ... your DMR ?

Where'd you get the adaptor from Tony? I've tried Googling but can't seem to find a source that's reasonably priced.

Well, here are a few results. Just a quick half hour round the back of the garden, getting used to the wee beasty.
So, it seems to work, but I need to learn how to use it. The above were taken using P mode, then adjusting exposure with a combination of exposure comp and ISO adjustment. Very strange.
Tony
Just some fun, for £23.
