I am considering replacing my SO wall shelf with a Mana but consider this.....

I have an eye /hand coordination problem. I can get my dealer to set it up once in the install and maybe tune it yearly thereafter, but I can't deal with this going out of tune all the time as getting dealer over to my house is difficult at times do to the large volume of installs. Is this the right shelf for me? Also are the holes to fasten this into the wall approximately the sme spacing as the old Sound Organization wall shelf.

The wall shelf will not go out of tune, don't worry.

Jaybar;

This is a description with dimensions of the Mana wall shelf written by Damian of Mana:

quote:
The Mana Wallshelf is 50cm wide and 47cm deep (front of shelf to the wall).
The glass shelf supplied is 47cm wide by 37cm deep. this gives an extra 9cm stand-off from the wall to allow for lid-opening if used with a turntable.

To fix the Mana Wallshelf to a wall a min width of 52cm is recommended together with a minimum depth of 30cm. The fixing centres are 47.5 cm side to side and 23cm top to bottom. We supply standard fixings with the Mana Wallshelf.

If you use the Mana wallshelf as a Reference version you need to allow an extra height of 11 cm. Using the shelf as a Reference does not add to the width or depth. It just makes it sound even better!

The standard Mana Wallshelf is £175.00 (UK stg)
The Mana Reference Wallshelf is £325.00 (UK stg)

I have a SO wall shelf (probably identical to yours). Having measured it, the Mana shelf has almost identical width, but the fixing holes are in a different place. On the SO, the screws go through holes drilled in horizontal members which run between the vertical members against the wall. The holes are positioned a little way (1.5"?) along the horizontals, inwards from the verticals. Onthe Mana, the holes are in the verticals themselves.

Therefore, you can't use the same holes, but the shlef won't take up any more width. If you have stud walls, use a backing board!
