About headphones and powersupplies

1. A story
An Englishman goes to visit to the Soviet Union, and it happens that he has to ask for the hour. He asks, and the Russian asks in return - we
are in the Soviet Union, where do you want to know what the hour is, here?
In Moscow? In Leningrad? In Aquachistan? In Chernobyl? In Siberia?

The Englishman wonders – you can tell me the hour at all these places only by looking on this very tiny watch on your wrist? Yes, answers the Russian.
Amazing, says the Englishman, I want to buy this tiny watch. OK, says the
Russian, it will cost you 2,000$. The Englishman pays, he takes the tiny watch and wants to go, Hey, says the Russian, it doesn’t work without these two powersupplies – and he handles the Englishman two very big and heavy suitcases.

2. Sennheiser hd600.

The story comes up between my friend and me. This friend owns a CD3, Flatcap/90/92/NAT3 and Credoes. He hates boxes!
The question is if there is a sonic difference if using a headline or if he connects the headphones directly to the power amp Output.
He is also asking for any information that can help him with the headphones.

Thanks,
Arye

The headline is quieter then connecting to the speaker outputs. With HD600 the speaker outputs work OK although with lower sensitivity speakers it would be very noisy. Connecting to the speaker outputs is quite a revelation though.
