oasis dig out your soul .

had a chance to give it a good listen, first thoughts ,the sound is terrible music is pretty good what a shame that with all the studios technology at hand it sounds so bad .i think abbey road was one of the studios and when you think of all the brilliant sounds that came out of there its strange .some of the early cds sound pretty good and i seem to remember a naim night which use a oasis track as a demo cd .maybe my ears are failing me anybody else feel the same.

The thing to keep in mind is that they strive for as close to a live sound as they can get. Noel does not want a slick, smooth, studio produced product...that is not what they are. I do agree however that the recording can be a bit overwelming at times, but that is Oasis.

I've the Japanese release on order.
I doubt it'll be any better, but hope springs eternal!

heard on the grapevine that the japanese one is as bad , if a little brighter let us know for better or worse 555 when it arrives.

may have to dust down my LP12 and get a copy, but it sounds like format rather than recording problems.

My excitement whilst purchasing was somewhat diminished upon listening. It seems to be more of the same, but I have only given the album two plays so I do need to give it more time.
I don't think the recording is too bad, no Oasis albums have been recorded giving the 'overproduced' kind of sound that we are all accustomed to hearing elsewhere.

My favorite Oasis album since SOTSOG. Saw them with Ryan Adams when they came to town. It was a great show. The word tosser comes to mind when I think about Liam, but I do like the music. I just ordered the deluxe vinyl edition from their website and I am looking forward to hearing it. I really like the addition of Jay Darlington. He really added to the live performance.

Managed to get on my hands on a 24bit first generation original master on dual sided DVD-A with a 5.1 as well as a stereo mix.

Got my JPN copy yesterday.
Haven't tried it on my main system yet,
but first impressions on my 2nd is this is the best Oasis release since Possibly Maybe.
I don't have any other versions of DOYS, so can't comment on relative sonic merits of the JPN release.

I am a huge fan of The Masterplan, especially the live version of I am the Walrus. It's the last song they play on the current tour, that and Waiting for the Rapture were the two standout songs for me at the MSG show.
