Nait 5 in my home

Hello !

Who say's that things won't getting better when you are married?
Three upgrades in less than a year, with three brand new components is my new record. (Thanks god that she likes music, if opposite, I don't know how would this happened, he he).
So, after almost three months of waiting for Nait 5, my dealer was resolved some administrative problems with some other company and my Nait 5 was finally "pulled out" and currently getting warmer and warmer at my home. Maybe this thread would not be interesting for Supercap guys, but I know that here is also a lot of budget level persons who can find something interesting here.

As some of you know, I have had Nait 2 from 1998. until middle of 2003. That's quite a lot of time without any amplifier upgrade we can say. I have enjoyed my Nait 2 with my ex Arcam Alpha 8 cdp for few years, but after many years of waiting I have heard CD5, there is no turning back, you guess. With adding of CD 5, I have had a feeling that Epos couldn't express what a new player deliever. I was start to thinking about faster, better controlled and speaker with higher resolution. In the meantime, I was learned a lot about Naim and one big lesson was Naca 5 for which is even my wife told that this cable (I have tried many expensive before) is missing link and by she's words, every bit is on it's place. During all this time I have had Epos ES12 speakers and I was lived in a trust that Epos work good with Naim. No, it is not. I strongly believe that with Naim work only Naim, Quad and Neat speakers (maybe Linn, but I don't like them).
I have tried CD 5/Nait 5 with Epos and I think that Epos can't answer on Naim demand, the sound was dry, stiff, confused and makes me tired. Then I was heard Cyruss player/Nait 5 and Intro 2 at dealer place. Cyruss was intruder here for sure, but I have had a feeling that Intros have a big potential, so it is Nait 5. I have been a little bit confused these days, especially after listening to CD 5/Nait 5 Epos 12 which was sounded much confused than with CD 5 /Nait 2 Epos 12. It was easy to notice that Nait 5 is better than Nait 2, but with Nait 5 with Epos somehow shorten up the bas slam and somehow rushed through musical material. My big listening experience and instinct told me that Nait 5 is much better and I need it, as I need Intro 2. After arriving CD 5 and Intro 2 I have making plans for FC2 or Nait 5. After few quality advices from some honest persons (one of them is Richard /no, they don't pay me for this/), I have decide to buy Nait 5. Impressions?
MUCH better than Nait 2 in EVERY area, but from the same story which is very important. This shopping confirmed that there is no fear to buy Naim equipment without listening, as I was not heard Nait 5 with my CD 5 and Intro 2, but with Epos at my home. With almost six years living with Nait 2, I know very good how this little amp sound and according to this, difference which Nait 5 is make to my sound makes me very happy.

Until the end of the year I plan to get FC2, but what next?
Any advice?

It is my pleasure to share with all of you my unlimited happiness.

Ozren,

It's great to see you getting so much pleasure from your new babies Smile

You say that the Nait 5 is better than the Nait 2 in "every area", but what would you say is the most significant thing that it does better ?

Minky !

It is very interesting that this ask someone who own CDS2/552/500/NBL.
Well, cold from the box, with CD 5 source which was unpluged for 3 months, Nait 5 initial impressions and differencies in order to Nait 2 are:

1. Higher resolution, which means better definition of everything.
2. More power, helped with higher level of resolution automatically gives much more information. Somehow...now I see how good is CD 5 and how ...bad are some of my discs and also how good are many of them.
3. Wider dispersion of sound through speakers, better filling of room with slightly bigger picture, but much more controlled and balanced than with Nait 2.
4. Better clarity, whatever that means, the sound is clearer, sometime maybe like polished in order to Nait 2 which was sometime sounds rough, but I believe that my ears are listening to much Nait 2 and some period of adaptability is needed.
5. It is faster, much faster I'd say than his older brother.

That's just some overall aspects which I was realised on yesterday evening and all of that aspects corelated with inner details of sound reproduction, like some round earth terminology, like some of you may say.
I believe that my new amplifier will don't stop surprise me even after several months, like my Intros, for example.
