I already has several places in the house where I can connect the TV and get a picture.

So, what's the point?

Systems exist that have used 'the mains' for control of devices for many years (heating systems in large housing estates for example). I first came across them in 1990 while on a placement with London Electricity. See here:

I presume that such a method of delivering a broadcast will affect the mains power for the entire household. It will be "dirtier" than it already is - I presume that this is what Mr R. Bear is referring to.

Back to home generation of the necessary current and voltage then? Anyone serious about the best replay will be pedalling like fury to power their gravity generator for perfect 230 v @ 50 Hz, and enough amps to work their set!

I predicted this for different reasons months ago!

July, 2003 posting on a similar topic in the US.
Not exactly the same, of course. Presumably Mr. Bear et al could opt NOT to have the system installed in their home and avoid the problem.
With BPL (Broadband over Power Lines) you're stuck with the hash spraying in the atmosphere around you and coupling into your home.
Nice.

i could swear my mains supply is already polluted with all this stuff -- and its doesnt look like we'll have much choice in the matter as this 'technology' develops.

enjoy?
