LP12 dust cover

Posted by: Kevin-W on 01 June 2003

The dust cover of my LP12, which is 14 and a half years old, is looking a bit messy (scratches, smears, fingermarks, dust etc).

Getting dust off is easy enough, but does anyone have any ideas on buffing it up a bit so it looks a bit more respectable?

Thanks in advance

Use brasso cleaner, the wadding is best.

Hi,
I managed to remove all scratches from a LP12 lid using T-Cut and a polishing buffer unit (intended for and mainly used to polish car body panels etc and costs between £15 and £50) A buffer attachment to fit onto a mormal drill, allthough smaller would do much the same job, albeit slightly slower. Worth the investment-I think Argos stock a 10"polisher for about £20...
Well worth it as Linn would probably want a (not)small fortune for a new one...

Linn charge about £60 for a new lid - expensive but not a complete rip-off compared to others.

Radio shack/Tandy
They offer a polishing liquid meant for the task.......
