NVi with DAB module

Posted by: David Drury on 29 December 2006

Hi Folks,

Newbie here so please be gentle.

I'm currently on my third nVi and awaiting the 4th... so far all have had the same problem. Upon 1st switch on the DAB tuner displays 100% signal (quality or quantity? - I don't know) and the thing plays fine. However, after a while when the temperature hits 35degC and the fan switches on (as shown on the status menu) the signal level jumps all over the shop and frequently drops to zero for up to 10 secs.
Consequently I get drop-outs and low signal qargling etc - the FM tuner is unaffected. As I've had 3 units so far I wonder if anyone else has the same problem. I'm tending towards forgetting the tuner module altogether and have a straightforward nVi (everything else - even optical, has been OK so far) and DVD and CD playback are superb.

Regards
Dave

Hi James

Its a 4 element Antiference externally mounted. I don't think the problem is lack of signal. I guess I've just been very unlucky

Hi David,

Sorry for the delay, I was not back at naim HQ until today.

can you please mail info@naim-audio.com with details of unit serial number and firmware revision.

(firmware rev is obtained by pressing and holding the PROG button on remote for 5 seconds. Front panel will display PIC and CHEERS revisions)
