dgilinx/netstreams app versus hdx app

Hi all i was wondering what is the difference between the hdx app and the app used for a nainnet system from netstreams, as the hdx can be used in a naimnet system can the app also be used or is it just to control the local system, seems to me that naim do things a bit better than the netstreams people so although i havnt looked at the naim app it probably is the way to go if it does the same job. thanks Martyn.
