Antonio Live

Antonio Forcione was playing live at the Concert Hall in Reading on Saturday. The lineup was significantly different to his usual stuff. This time he had a quartet going, being two guitarists, a cellist and a percussionist.
Obviously Antonio played some of the usual stuff we already know from past albums but this lineup really had a great deal to offer. The expansiveness of the cello, lyricism of the second guitarist and the plethora of percussion sounds and beats was just fantastic. I was sceptical at first to see Antonio in this kind of mix, but it worked extremely well and I look forward to the next album which will be released as a quartet apparently. We had a whale of a time and there was the usual humour and guitar swinging antics you'd expect. A real blast and the new melodies are gorgeous.
Regards,
Frank.
