Tivoli DAB/FM/AM radio, owner advice sought

Posted by: superhoops on 30 November 2005

I am thinking about spending a ludicrous amount of money on one of these even though at least 2 reviews I've seen say they are not appreciably better than the Pure.

Anyway I'm quite tempted regardless. If we welcomed one into our home we would use it as a clock radio. Since my wife and I are rubbish at getting up, we make copious use of the snooze button. The UK distributor tells me the duration of the snooze is 5 minutes, John Lewis' website says it's adjustable. Can anyone tell me categorically how long the radio stops for when you hit the snooze?! All the websites seem to give you the standard blurb which doesn't include snooze time. thank you!

I'm not sure if you're the sad one Merto.

Do you have a quality nose hair trimmer?

The truly sad part is that I own one and know the answers. The snooze is 5 minutes. A few thoughts: The alarm is VERY loud. You can set the radio to be the alarm or a beeping sound which cuts glass. The light on the clock is very bright so you will need to keep it at least 6' from the bed or else it will keep you awake, that has been my experience. I occasionally use it as a tuner with my Nait 5.

Snooze isn't a snooze if it's less than 8 minutes Winker

A five minute cycle's waaaay too quick.

Well it might be sad but I found it very helpful (and anyway let's face it, it's not the only sad comment ever posted on this forum...). Vaughn3d - thanks for your experience - and domfjbrown - I agree! Maybe I'll get a quality nose hair trimmer instead, and stick it on a timer plug, thus getting the noise to wake me up. Anyone recommend a noisy one?

Just leave it in your nose mate.
