Uphill from there all the way, Musically, Attitude, Freedom, (Health at the beginning) and Grean Tea (I ain't sayin Nuffink).

Fritz von Reminds me of the Great Lady Raine (Who I once met with Grannie at Bembridge at her (Saxon Cottage). She was worth 20 Royal Navy Officers and more to-boot believe me: (Davy Niven was actually expelled (Grannie was looking after the Shar of Persia's kids at the time if I recall (Now they're considered terrorists?)

P.S. I met Lady Raine again (wonderfully) at Henley some years later (Unknown to my people) she reminded me of giving flowers to (Victoria, Yes Queen Victoria herself) I'd heard this from her own lips as a child (Quite lucky aren't I?)
Grannie always worried about her best China cups and saucers and although I knew she loved Raine and likewise so they always
addeseed each other as if it was the firt time they'de ever met. Lady West an Art Thingy (we never met her lot) lived next door too right on the beach (Dream,y Stuff Belive me and private)

Dear Fritz,

You rightly pointed out that I have mentioned who I voted for at the last election more than once, but that seems fair enough to me. Not everyone here has a memory as long as yours, and long memory is good thing in my view.

On Saturday I shall be returning to live in Worcester and in the same constituency, so unless he retires at the election it seems likely that my vote will agin fall in the same place. The only way we can remove the current heartless gang from office is to vote for another splendid {Unsure Grin Smiley] group! No doubt they will be at least as annoying in time, but with poiliticians, it does not really help to leave them in office for too long, or else they get complacent and patronising. My vote has either been Tory or abstention (when I am fed up with them, but could not face the notion of voting for the other lot!), but now is the time to consider a change of government at the next election in UK, I feel sure.

How is Merkel doing, as we don't hear enough on the radio about German politics in my view?

ATB from Fredrik
Posted on: 15 August 2006 by Berlin Fritz
i Is very pleased to hear that you're still on the political track Our Fredders, though when you abstain you waste a vote in my opinion, rather than actually going in and spoiling your ballot card if you see what I mean? that's what it's all about I reckon.
I'm not surprised that you don't hear much about German (or other European politics for that matter) on UK radio or TV (Mainly when they mention Europe they mean France). Merkel in my view is still hanging on to the ship quite well, considering she's leading a precarious all party coillition government. I was pretty surprised by the comments of a senior Yankee News Anchorman recently (Very famous one too) who pointed out that 99% of all US er, News Channels, only cover around 5% foreign news if that* Foreign News does not refer to when British or Yankee troops or policy are in action there, it means foreign as in foreign, unfortunately certain Countries only see as far as their own borders, innit(Can anybody think of any lately I wonder?)

Fritz von Never mind Our Jack'll be steering SS Britannia soon, and I'm looking forward next month (Sun 17th) to being an election helper for the first time at the Town Hall, where I even get two days off of work (paid) and a few bob on the day in my sky for being there* then as well as an impending visit from the court baillifs still hanging over my head from a 12 year old bank debt unable to be fully repaid through er, unemployment, and the fact that at the end of October I shall be once again er, unemployed and wondering about being able to pay my new rent 66% higher, window work started yesterday at last, things aren't looking too great actually Our Fredders, maybe I should become a Mason (or a Muslim), what do you reckon and sell my Shole?

Democracy at it's finest and 16 year olds + will be able to vote here (in local stuff) for the first time ever as well, imagine that in London can we? I think not, think of all the teenage Muslims hell bent on getting the Tories back in instead of Our Ken *

G'Day*** : (Full Colon) time for a POny innit;

Amazingly and quite coincidentally enough at lunchtime today (I popped home to try and catch the tea-leaves out as per usual, there's a lot of Brits round here temporarily at the mo) and what do I find two big old letters from the Town Hall re the very election I was harpic-ing on to Our Fredders about earlier at most ungodly hours, wunnit. Mentioning it briefly to my boss, I was surprised at her and others reaction to my being able to vote anyway, and the election helper aspect is linked indirectly as I'm a temporary thingy whils't employed. Actually she really got on my goat (without being aware of it) so I promptly wrote to said office and withdrew my support on that day with full apologies etc, etc (known to only you chaps, so don't mention it please). I will now enjoy that voting Sunday by rolling along and voting as in the past (to change part of the German (Written) Constitution actually (even as Non German National) (2 Jags doesn't even bother with the voting). A preliminary meeting of bullshit was pre-arranged too, landing on my soon to be enjoyed very well earned leave, so fuck em, fuck the money, fuck the days off, and Hail Fritz's Freedom to do what the Fuck he wants in a Free Society, taking the consequences as his , and his alone, unlike certain other Blame Game Island Cultures & er. merchants not so very far away from here as the old Emu flies.*

In the early 80's it was possible for an ex-pat (Civilian) to still vote in a UK General Election (By Proxy & wherever they 'legally' were via the local Embassy/Consulate) after living for up to 5 years outside of the Island (Tax/Irrellevant). Margaret Thatcher changed that from 5 years to 20 years (as most of the estimated 1 Million ex pats around the world were more likely to be Tory orientated (Shocked & Stunned I think not) than anything else. Although I personally thought the original 5 years was reasonable (many thought then and now that it should be around 2-3 years), and I was Gobsmacked to be honest when it changed, and although I didn't agree with the ominous 'privelege' I used it on three occassions to air my view in the form of a vote (as I did too here on a European level). As mentioned many times on here afore I now am in limbo land 'Democratically' unless I take German Citizenship to vote in an General election. or return to the UK and wait a yearish? As mentioned recently (yesterday in fact) I will soon be able to vote here as a non German in a serious Constitutional change of policy (Yes or No to the proposal). Should I really be able to have this right?, Would you allow it in the UK? (I think Not somehow) (this applies to long term non EU Berliners/German immigrants too some born here but still foreigners as such).

Fritz von Our Mick will lap up the el-Wally right in Spain at a later date I'm sure, even though he's never admitted to even voting on here before, I rest my case for the Hypocrisy² of it all, never mind the arrogant apathy, innit*

Fritz,

Why would you not want German citizenship?

Yes, I would allow you to vote. This goes for the UK too!

I’ll take it as read you live and work to make a difference, even if perhaps these are only small contributions toward the German economy/society, and that you give consideration to the rights and interests of others, observe the written laws of the land. Plus you speak the Lingo which is a commitment, in my eyes anyway.

How’s the building refurbishment going, emptied the cellar yet?

Beano Old Fruit, there is absolutely no reason Why I do not want / nor will be denied German Citizenship (Very very rare here by the way) and without the Democratic argument I may well not get it(but will as I'm already in the frame officially), as is the case on the UK too as all EU Passport/ID Card holders (except Brits flying it seems?) have equal rights (New members eventually too for the pedants like Cavendish's pathetic earlier comments re signing of the British OSA, and the 40 odd different driving licences presently in Europe and those that maintain they have more than one (some 3 EU Passports, never seen em yet though, barring the usual Pub Bullshit (not to mention French apples; he really should keep his stupid opinions to himself and go drinking with Parry to learn some reality about losing money (ie paying the tab)n the real world of verbal abdabs.

I do not think I should be able to vote here in a general election without Citzenship, and my earlier 'surprise to me' regarding a serious change in the German Constitution and me being able to vote upon it surprises me greatly, as I see it as not too far different to actually voting for the leader him/herself in principle, or am I wrong here?

Your thoughts although maybe very fine and honourable after a man pays taxes for years etc etc, are totally undemocratic in my view, and by allowing this, actually opens Pandora's Box to all and Sundrie with inevitable catastrophic consequences**

Fritz,

Is it possible you may have become legible to vote for reasons which are not apparent?
I would personally view; treat it as if you have met certain criteria, as I’ve already stated.

As for voting in a change of Germany’s government leadership, then Citizenship should be required.

As for Pandora’s Box, I’d be quite strict on that one. No chance, NEXT

Please use your imagination and chuck me a couple of possibilities old chum? Anyway as another point, mega-unemployment here over the last ten years or so has one noticable positive aspect at present as far as I can see (I quote nothing, I refer to my own experiences and opinion as per always). In reality some 8 Million Germans (or folks living legally in Germany like myself are unemployed in the real sense). Merkels Leadership ( I make no political comment here) has brought out the need for many many States (in this Federal land with a 'written Constitution like the US', and unlike the UK) to seriously question (and seriously KICK ARSE) at any missappropiation of public (ie tax payers contributions) (Mick & your Ilk you'd love it my Son).

I've decided not to do last minute before bed revision afterall (which I'll be hitting very soon indeed) and go for the after morning shower (I never breakfast on weekdays, not even tea or coffee) and will drain a bit of text instead (If I can read my own notes that is?), hit the U-Bahn right across town (rare for me these days too) and see what happens. My Bod is excellent and has given real effort that's why I feel obliged to return the compliment (there are only two of us student-wise so it's quite a full time luxury innit) to her as well. She actually studies English (only spoken a word or two with her) and she's a Spanish Berliner(in) who is also out of a contract soon. I've a nice present for her (irrespective of my performance which I'm sure will be abysmal, but she's put me on the right track, and I don't make excuses for other people (probably why I'll soon be unemployed again too innit?), I'll give her a copy of the Alchemist (Which I reccommend as fine reading by the way, wether you've read it afore, holiday, chillin oot, old or young, as simple as that innit).
