hampstead and highgate festival 2002

hi folks.
i attended the gala opening concert at the church of st-jude-on-the-hill in central square nw11. britten sinfonia (strings) were performing.
its not the sort of event i would normally attend, (far, far too posh for me...) but my trumpet teacher was performing and she invited me along. so i went.
its a marvellous venue. i recall thinking about how the acoustics would be before the concert started, where i should sit etc...
when it did start all my initial thoughts evaporated. the music simply took over.
and when it was my trumpet teachers turn to premiere "moonlight revels: a concerto for trumpet, alto saxophone and strings" by jonathan dove ... i was mesmerised. (my teacher's sister was on alto sax!)
i am definitely a better man for having attended this concert. and i am definitely not worthy of my trumpet teacher. and i cannot begin to imagine what my next lesson is going to be like. maybe i'll just kiss her feet and leave...
enjoy...
