Surely you are allowed to edit your profile - its your signature that you can't edit.

I agree Geoff. Profiles are very helpful.

So many times I look at a profile, to help make sense of comment - it really helps to have this background info.

Also, please keep profiles (especially about equipment!) up to date Smile Smile

Unless you have your entire history scheduled out, a profile could be misleadingly construed as a qualification to comment or otherwise.

My logic for refraining from logging my system.

Peter.

I have no intention of exhibiting all my screw ups I have made in the past for world to see.

I agree. People's comments should be judged on how useful, informed etc they are, not on what system they have.

I wondered what this thread was about when I saw the title, 'member profiles'..... I thought perhaps you had been taking some furtive side on photos at the urinals.

Yes, it is annoying reading a post at this forum about the audio market and you do not know where it is.
And then there is the posts refering to the
poster's equipment. Of course I click on the profile to find out what he is talking about, only to find no equipment listed at all.

well come on then, make this "the profile thread".

"about the author".

sensitive aquarius, likes goldfish, sunday papers, wheel tappers and shunters, and armourer's magazines spends time surfing unusual sites and stumbled upon Naim Audio after a mis-typed google search. now owns CD3 (again, a mis-typed search) 552 110 and arevas much to the disappointment of mother. enjoys thomas the tank engine theme music and death metal. answers to the name "pokey". fiery when cornered on any discussion he has previously entrered as self-proclaimed subject matter expert; excruciatingly labourious arguments about fares a recurring theme.
