NFL 2009 & Wembley Game

Posted by: JamieL on 29 May 2008

Just managed to get a couple of tickets for the NFL (American Football) game at Wembley between the 'New Orleans Saints' and the 'San Diego Chargers'.

Was amazed that the register worked this year after last year's ticketing fiasco.

It will great to finally see a competitive game of NFL pro football, rather than just the pre-season warmups of the late 80s.

Although generally an AFC fan, I will be supporting the Saints, as I like the team a lot, and the Chargers are rivals to the Broncos (who I have supported for quarter of a century).

Is anyone else from here going? Would be good to meet up before the game.

And since I am starting a NFL 2009 thread, my very early prediction for the Superbowl, Cowboys vs Jaguars. My heads says Cowboys win, my heart says Jaguars win.

....I thought for a moment there I'd found another Cowboys fan rather than the Saints...I guess the Cowboys are regarded in the USA as Man U are here despite being the best supported team in America (apparently?) they seem to be disliked by most other fans. I've "supported" the Cowboys since the days of Danny White ....having latched on to them around the mid 80's when the NFL was first shown over here.

Since then I've become genuinely attached to them and watch every live Cowboys game Sky broadcast (quite a few last season) as for the Super bowl .....well bias aside yes the Cowboys could well get there but mebbe's the Patriots will re-establish themselves after their suprise defeat last year?

Getting together before the Wembley game would be a nice idea ...don't know If I'll be able to get there though!
