An absolute classic. Can't believe it is now 20 years old. It is just such a chilling album, one can't help but feel relaxed after listening to a few tunes from this. But then again, it's not everyone's cup of tea............

Genuinely groundbreaking album, showed that Rap doesn't have to be about violence and denigrating to women

Just noticed on 'No shoe strings on Louise' how much he sounds like Jagger and the band sound like the Stones circa 'Exile'
One of the greatest debuts of all time?
No doubt about it Diccus, IMHO (although I think Empty Sky was his first, but not initially released here in the UK). Great listening session this afternoon for you, those early albums are classics. Bernie Taupin's lyrics coupled with Elton's music are one of the standouts of the last 40 years for me.
I can still remember, as a 2 yr old, sat in my pram one day and filling up to the lyrics of "The Greatest Discovery" - still one of my favourites.

It's even got a Steely Dan sample for all the white boy Naim owners out there. Great album.

Son of John and Alice. This is going to be a contender for one of the best jazz albums of 09. Excellent.

This is one of their best, brilliant! It got loud when "Enjoy The Silence" came on, but this album has many great tracks. "101" is still one of my favourite live albums. Just read somewhere that it is available as an SACD, must check that out as well.

Cheers Mat - it's one of those albums that I have not actually heard anyone say negative things about. OK, some (many?) will not like this sort of thing but within its' genre it will always be one of the greatest for me.

Email coming your way. Love the Dan Pickett someone I have never heard of. As I say in my email one of the ebst acoustic blues discs I heard in years and I ain't a great acoustic blues fan
Never saw the Muddy Waters in the releases list but definite purchase.
